As a result, the development of BIMCalc a fact. This plug-in helps users of Autodesk's Revit to make a quick cost price estimate and thereby allow all parties to see the financial feasibility of a Building Information Model (BIM).

Strengthening by collaboration

There has already been a collaboration between both companies. They have one of the largest builders of the Netherlands equipped with risk models for real estate development projects with key figures from the field. Now they join forces. "The collaboration between IGG and Invantive is a good move. We complement each other to a greater whole in terms of knowledge on adjacent areas and at all levels the cooperation is very inspiring," says Guido Leenders, director of Invantive.

Why BIMCalc

Putting together building plans is done by different parties, each with their own expertise. In recent years a trend has occurred to reduce the failure costs through better collaboration. This is done by a Building Information Modeling (BIM); a joint integrated plan in which the information from all expertises is collected. The design package Revit Autocad helps with entering BIM. IGG wants to help users of Autodesk Revit to make a quick cost price estimate based on a Revit design. This estimate is made by a so-called plug-in added to Revit; BIMCalc. This requests full transparency reports of cost prices based on the key figures of IGG.

The same key figures are also used for the compassconstructioncost and the website buildcostcheck.nl. For example, architects and designers during the mass study and sketch study real-time insight into the financial feasibility of a design. While all parties further refine the design together in Autodesk Revit, the financial feasibility can always be updated on the spot.

Launching BIMCalc

The launch for BIMCalc is scheduled for early next year. During the Build & ICT Exhibition in March 2012 the collaborating companies will demonstrate this plug-in live to the visitors of the exhibition.

Hierden, 20110914 -- Invantive is finished with developing the software Invantive Control. Invantive Control creates a bridge between Microsoft Excel and data warehouses based on data vault. Invantive Control was developed in collaboration with Ballast Nedam, and with the help of WBSO subsidy.

Due to years of experience and conversations with customers Invantive has insight in what users exactly want from complex risk models. Flexible, intuitive and quick to implement data as possible in Excel. But also share data, consolidate and analyze from different angles.

Microsoft Excel is very flexible but once the data has to be modified by several people or a business-critical character, then the disadvantages of the flexibility of Excel is shown. It becomes even worse when the data have to comply with regulations such as ISO 27002 or SAS 70.

Invantive Control offers the solution

With Invantive Control it is possible for users to keep their flexibility within Excel whenever possible, without renouncing the integrity and confidentiality. Guido Leenders of Invantive explains that it often can be a dilemma: ‘Even real control freaks told me they would rather use Excel to analyze data and compile. But for grip on your Excel processes they find Excel by default inadequate, what a dilemma’.

Not with Invantive Control; users can retrieve data within their means, take, customize and process the data again later in the data warehouse. Without manual intervention of a IT department and without many expenses or much effort. All this within the framework of the agreed business rules. And due to Control Invantive you can meet standards as ISO 27002 or SAS 70 while you still continue to use Excel.
